YOUR ROLE
The DevOps Engineer / Release Manager will be responsible for managing repositories, enforcing versioning guidelines, and overseeing release management activities for a development team working on a new app project. The project involves high-performance microservices and an event-driven architecture. The engineer’s focus will be on product quality, rapid feature integration, and stability of previously released features.
YOUR PROFILE
- Good conversational English (B2, C1, C2)
- 4-10 year of experience relevant to the role.
- Version Control and Repository Management:
- Proficiency in Git and Git workflows (e.g., Gitflow, GitHub Flow).
- Experience with Git repository management tools (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
- Ability to enforce versioning guidelines and best practices.
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
- Mastery of CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of build automation, unit testing, and code quality checks.
- Ability to automate deployment processes for microservices.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Strong understanding of IaC principles using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Ability to define and manage infrastructure using code.
- Experience with version-controlled infrastructure configurations.
- Containerization and Orchestration:
- Proficiency in Docker for containerization.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Ability to manage Kubernetes clusters and deploy microservices.
- Monitoring and Observability:
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Ability to set up alerts, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Knowledge of distributed tracing for microservices.
- Release Management and Deployment Strategies:
- Expertise in blue-green deployments, canary releases, and feature flags.
- Ability to coordinate releases across microservices.
- Familiarity with rollback strategies.
- Security and Compliance:
- Understanding of security best practices for CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of secrets management and secure configuration.
- Awareness of compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Excellent communication skills to work with development teams, architects, and stakeholders.
- Ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
- Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, pytest).
- Ability to integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Problem-Solving and Incident Management:
- Aptitude for troubleshooting production incidents.
- Ability to respond to incidents promptly and coordinate resolution.
- Experience with incident management tools (e.g., PagerDuty, OpsGenie).
- Soft Skills:
- Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor a DevOps team.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic environment with changing requirements.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in release processes.
