Join our dynamic team as a Cost Engineer, where you will develop direct material costs and tooling investments for Chassis, HVAC, and Engine Systems components. Utilizing activity-based costing methodology, you will work from bill of materials, drawings, and samples. Your expertise will support engineering and purchasing at both working and executive levels throughout all development phases. We seek a curious, persistent, and innovative individual capable of analyzing supplier quotes and negotiating appropriate piece and tooling costs.

YOUR ROLE

Design to Cost:

• Support Engineering during the vehicle development phase to achieve cost targets
• Release cost engineering estimates through reference or bottom-up analysis up to contract milestones.

Sourcing:

• Perform "Should Cost" calculations using a bottom-up approach for new and modified purchased components (variable & supplier tooling) to support Project Team business cases.
• Provide purchasing support during supplier negotiations through gap analysis of supplier’s price breakdown details.

Serial Life:

• Evaluate engineering changes to establish technical costs and identify cost drivers for variable and supplier tooling.
• Collaborate with suppliers on component technical solution cost drivers for variable cost & tooling.

Commodity Champion:

• Conduct periodic supplier visits to maintain and improve internal knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices.
• Identify potential cost optimization opportunities and support technical cost reduction activities.
• Provide global component cost comparison analysis by working with the Project Cost Engineering community.
• Develop cost structures for component standardization plans.
• Identify opportunities from benchmarking, innovative technologies, and best countries.

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 2 to 5 years in Production, Quality, Cost Estimation, or Process Expertise.
• Intermediate to fluent English proficiency.
• Expertise in Metal Stamping and Welding within Chassis Suspension Frames within the Automotive field.
