An exciting opportunity to work as an SAP Programme/Portfolio Manager within our established Capgemini SAP team, supporting one of our largest global clients. In this crucial role you will provide delivery and management of multiple SAP projects and programmes within a complex and challenging IT estate. In addition to day-to-day delivery governance, you will serve as mediator between client resources and executives, focused on delivering client value and nurturing the client/supplier relationship.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

An SAP Programme/Portfolio Manager is required to join Capgemini’s busy SAP team supporting our clients. We deliver a wide range of SAP projects from small changes to multi-year deliveries (typically 80-90 engagements concurrently), focused principally on SAP Tax and Revenue Management. We’re excited to be offering this opportunity to join our expanding team, working across a diverse range of SAP technologies and areas of the business. You will lead, govern and deliver a portfolio of complex projects or programmes using a variety of recognised methodologies, including Agile, via a number of multi-disciplined, highly skilled teams. You will work closely with some of our senior clients to build relationships, manage expectations and develop and establish new streams of work. You will play a leading role in establishing the appropriate commercial proposals alongside establishing delivery priorities and plans, managing risks and dependencies. You will play a leading role in mentoring, developing our people and be an active member of our Project Management community.

What you’ll do:


• Governance of a portfolio of projects or a programme through the full lifecycle
• Provide leadership and management of project and programme teams
• Support new business development including the development of commercial propositions
• Be accountable for all aspects of delivery including risks, issues, scope, cost and timeline
• Actively manage progress and financial reporting using best practice
• Actively manages the client relationship and their expectations
• You will conduct client negotiations to agree terms for changes to the scope of projects or programmes to ensure commercial viability and to set realistic expectations
• You’ll be accountable for the delivery of complex projects or a programme, typically involving multiple teams and/or suppliers
• You’ll be expected to understand and operate the account strategy

Your skills and experience

• Strong SAP delivery, leadership and people experience at scale and complexity
• Established credentials and track record of previous SAP project delivery (of multi-million pound budgets), across multiple industries
• Strong experience of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid methodologies
• Have a recognised industry qualification such as PRINCE 2
• Good communicator, ability to influence, mentor and coach others
• Proven ability to forge trusted relationship with clients in line with our business objectives
• Strong financial and commercial management
• Ability to work independently within a client or competitive environment
• Proven vendor/supplier management experience
• Excellent consulting and customer facing skills
