Your Role
Strategic Leadership:
- Oversee and manage multiple vendor and internal development teams and tech leads in the creation of APIs, microservices, web and mobile applications for digital banking platforms
- Provide strategic direction to ensure alignment with business objectives and technology strategies
- Assume end-to-end responsibility for the technical design and architecture from mobile applications to backend systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance
Vendor Management:
- Manage and oversee external vendors to ensure their deliverables meet our quality and performance standards
- Establish clear metrics and KPIs for vendor performance and conduct regular evaluations and feedback sessions
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve any issues impacting project timelines or quality
Standards and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce development standards and best practices to enhance code quality across all teams
- Identify and implement standard tools to increase developer productivity and ensure consistency
Team Development:
- Mentor and coach tech leads and developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and goal-setting sessions, aligning individual objectives with organizational KPIs
Technical Delivery Management:
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and optimal resource utilization
- Manage and guide technical leads and coordinate with Business Analysts to translate business requirements into comprehensive and effective technical solutions
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular code reviews and compliance checks to maintain high-quality code standards
- Identify key areas of optimization on the Digital Applications
- Lead the resolution of escalated incidents or bugs, coordinating cross-team efforts as necessary
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary liaison between, development teams, and vendors, facilitating effective communication and project delivery
- Provide detailed performance reports and analytics to senior management and relevant stakeholders
Agile Facilitation:
- Lead Agile ceremonies and promote best practices in Scrum and Agile methodologies
- Present and demonstrate project progress and working software to product owners and stakeholders during sprint reviews and demos
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the digital banking domain
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance efficiency
Your Profile
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus
Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role managing multiple development teams and projects
- Extensive experience programming in Java 11 or newer for applications, APIs, and microservices
- Demonstrated expertise in deploying applications using GitLab CI/CD pipelines in Kubernetes environments (e.g., EKS, ECS in AWS)
- Strong experience in end-to-end technical design, including mobile application development and backend system integration
- Experience in managing vendors, including monitoring quality and performance metrics
Leadership Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management abilities with experience in performance management and team development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interfacing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Technical Proficiency:
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API development, and mobile application frameworks
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS services related to containerization and orchestration
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or similar are advantageous
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
Availability:
- Willingness to occasionally work outside regular business hours to meet project deadlines or address critical issues
