YOUR ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled Database PostgreSQL Specialist to join our team for a large bank payment solutions client. The ideal candidate will not only be a proficient as in understanding of Database aspects but also have a strong focus on application development and optimizations. Payments Database specialist works closely with the Solution Architect, DBAs and Lead Engineer to create highly performant and resilient database design and subsequently works with senior application engineers to implement the designs.

YOUR TASKS

• Maintain and optimize PostgreSQL databases for high transaction volumes.
• Collaborate with developers to implement efficient data access patterns and reduce performance bottlenecks.
• Design and implement data models to support business-critical features, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
• Perform performance monitoring and fine-tuning of database queries.
• Implement data migration strategies, ensuring seamless transitions across environments during feature releases.
• Monitor and maintain database health, including replication, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Optimize database configurations to achieve cost savings on cloud infrastructure.
• Implement role-based access systems to enhance database security compliance.

YOUR PROFILE

• Experience for a professional consulting organization in the Database area with strong Database foundation skills.
• 4+ years of direct working experience on PostgreSQL tools (such as PgBadger, PEM, BARMAN), networking and architecture.
• Proficiency in Java language.
• In-depth understanding of databases and knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with data migration, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong understanding of database security best practices.
