Let’s talk about the roles and responsibilities:
As a Lab Instrument Support Analyst, you will ensure the smooth operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of lab instruments within a regulated environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Instrument & Network Setup:
- Conduct physical checks of instruments and network connections.
- Assist with site preparation for new instrument installations, considering site architecture and design.
- Collaborate with vendors to install, configure, and complete IQ (Installation Qualification).
- Coordinate with Seqirus to perform OQ (Operational Qualification) and PQ (Performance Qualification).
- Work with the network team to bring instruments online and integrate them with other applications as needed.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
- Execute standard SOPs for troubleshooting.
- Perform additional diagnostics and triaging for complex issues.
- Support instrument vendors during troubleshooting and manage firmware updates (OTA).
- Resolve data storage issues and assist in data backup and restoration.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Update documentation per GxP standards for quality lab instruments.
- Obtain required approvals and capture evidence for GxP documentation.
- Verify user account validity and manage security procedures for access.
- Validation & Reviews:
- Ensure a validation plan is available with the instrument owner.
- Schedule periodic reviews with Seqirus instrument owners.
- Inventory & Knowledge Management:
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of lab instruments.
- Update the knowledge base with learnings and workarounds.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
- Basic understanding of IT support requirements in Pharma/Biotech industries.
- Foundational knowledge of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
- Analytical and business-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to articulate complex technical matters to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience as a technically oriented systems analyst.
- Strong client-facing skills, including verbal and written communication, and presentation abilities.
