Your Role

You will work on high profile, impactful projects which will help our clients successfully deliver scalable energy, healthcare and transport programmes that will help the UK transition to a low carbon, sustainable future by leveraging the Industry 4.0 concepts. Our consultants bring extensive Industry experience, strong business improvement skillsets and they understand how improved digitisation in project delivery processes can be used to reduce cost, promote operational efficiency, transform maintenance and deliver value to stakeholders.


We work collaboratively with clients at all levels of an organisation and across all stages of the product lifecycle to help them define the key foundations and capabilities to set up their industrial project for success. Starting with the end in mind, we blend deep industry insight with the use of emerging IIoT technologies and techniques to help our clients create a digitally enabled workforces and more integrated ways of working. We move from ‘idea to action’ quickly and build confidence along the digital journey to help our clients successfully deliver value.


Our clients include some of the largest organisations in the Energy, Healthcare and Transport Sectors. We help them to reduce their cost and improve their efficiency, through the use of digital enablers and operations improvements. Using your extensive industry knowledge and experience of delivering significant transformation initiatives, you will work with our clients to identify, shape and deliver significant IoT transformation programmes. You will work together with teams of talented professionals from across Capgemini’s business units to develop and realise solutions which digitise and optimise processes across the value chain, from engineering design through to production and predictive maintenance. You will take on responsibility for helping clients to successfully implement new IoT capabilities and transform their operations.

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Internal Contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
  • Learning & Development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

Your Profile

You will use your business and technical knowledge, together with your strong understanding of Industry, to help clients develop the justifications for change, identify the opportunities for value realisation as well as defining the elements that need to put in place to realise their ambitions. This would typically include transformation roadmaps, business cases, operating model design and solution architectures

We’d love to meet someone with:

  • Strong knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT, Historians, SCADA, Edge computing, cyber security, digital twins, digital control towers etc.
  • Domain-specific knowledge of digital threads from one or more of the following: predictive maintenance, operational efficiency, enhanced safety, supply chain optimization.
  • Engage with clients to understand their business requirements and challenges and identify opportunities for IoT integration.
  • A desire to provide solutions to the real-world issues and challenges with IoT that our clients face regularly.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within the team.
  • Have effective and clear communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills, with experience in enabling clients to better understand and derive better value and insights from their data.
  • Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Experience of proposition building and delivery.
  • Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating c.£1m of consulting revenues
