Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the development of cutting-edge mobile applications. This role combines strong technical acumen with leadership skills to manage engineering teams, drive technical excellence, and ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality solutions. The Engineering Manager will also adopt Scrum Master responsibilities, ensuring agile practices are maintained and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of mobile engineers (iOS and Android developers).
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture focused on quality and innovation.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development planning.

Technical Leadership

  • Drive the architecture and technical direction of mobile application projects.
  • Ensure engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing standards, and performance optimization.
  • Stay updated on the latest mobile development tools, frameworks, and technologies, and incorporate them into project workflows where appropriate.

Agile Practices and Delivery

  • Act as a facilitator for agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Ensure sprint goals are met and delivery pipelines are efficient and aligned with business needs.
  • Actively work to identify and remove impediments impacting team progress.
  • Monitor and report on sprint and release performance metrics.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and prioritize the backlog.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., backend, DevOps, QA) to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Act as a technical liaison to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project progress, risks, and trade-offs.

Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • 10+ years in mobile application development with at least 3 years in a leadership role, such as Engineering Manager or Technical Lead.
  • Hands-on experience in iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin/Java) development.
  • Demonstrated experience in agile software development and managing large-scale projects.
  • Proficiency in mobile architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture).
  • Familiarity with trunk-based development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools.
  • Understanding of cloud services (AWS, Firebase, or Azure) and mobile backend integrations.
  • Must Have- release management and capacity management
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop and retain top talent.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
