Capgemini Engineering are looking to recruit a number of mechanical design engineers. As a Mechanical design engineer with experience within the space industry, you will be fundamental to our ability to deliver to the customer and client. Our customer expectations are high; as such we are looking for adaptive driven people to deliver on time to the required quality.

As a Mechanical design engineer, you will initially be required to work on-site at the clients office in Stevenage. Thereafter you will have opportunities to work remotely, hybrid and full-time on site for future projects. You will be working with the latest tools, 3DEXPERIENCE and in-house client tools that have been developed to provide a range of exciting technical solutions.

Job Description - Grade Specific

Your Role

You will be a mechanical design engineer working on very high profile projects. You will use creative problem-solving skills work in a team environment and be comfortable communicating clearly and efficiently throughout varying levels of both the customer and Capgemini Engineering businesses.

Other key responsibilities include:

• 3D modelling and 2D drafting using CAD packages
• Applying manufacturing and quality specifications and assigning notes
• Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team
• Liaising with design team and proposing new concepts and improvements
• Work within a team; that collectively are responsible for end-to-end spacecraft structure sub-system throughout the design.
• Establish technical definition of the spacecraft structure sub-system or component as part of the overall system.
• Establish interfacing components and sub-assemblies.
• Continuously monitor progress, ensure timely resolution of technical issues for the sub-system, component.
