Job Description - Grade Specific
- Expertise in HashiCorp Vault and a strong background in DevOps tools and technologies.
- Solid understanding of Linux administration, Git and GitHub Actions, Splunk for monitoring, and basic networking knowledge.
- Responsible for managing and automating the secure storage, access, and distribution of secrets, as well as ensuring seamless integration with existing DevOps processes and infrastructure.
- Vault Management: Configure, deploy, and manage HashiCorp Vault clusters, including securing and managing secrets, tokens, policies, and access control.
- Automation: Automate the integration of HashiCorp Vault into CI/CD pipelines and other DevOps workflows using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Security Compliance: Ensure the application adheres to best practices for security, including compliance with organizational policies and external regulations.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize IaC tools to manage and provision Vault infrastructure, ensuring repeatability and version control.
- Monitoring & Logging: Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for Vault operations using tools like Splunk to ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to integrate Vault with applications and services across the organization.
- Linux Administration: Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based servers hosting Vault, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Networking: Apply basic networking knowledge to configure and secure network access to Vault and related services.
Primary Skills
HashiCorp Vault:
- Experience deploying and managing HashiCorp Vault in production environments.
- Knowledge of Vault’s authentication methods, secret engines, and access control mechanisms.
- Experience with managing Vault clusters, including backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
Secondary Skills
- Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
- Certification on HashiCorp is an added advantage.
