Let’s talk about the role and responsibilities:
A Test Automation Specialist Maintains & Develops Automation Framework for API, GUI and mobile devices.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, support, and develop the test automation Opensource tools, such as Karate and Selenium that form the test automation frameworks
  • Ensure the frameworks are always security compliant. Act on any security issues in a timely manner. Carry out regular audits to comply with security requirements.
  • Implement measures to secure sensitive data like data masking, etc. Provide provisions to handle data creation, deletion and updating in a secure way.
  • Regularly update frameworks with the latest features, resolving bugs, and optimizing performance for efficient execution.
  • Ensure all aspects of the frameworks are well-documented, including setup, usage, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to help teams understand and effectively use the frameworks.
  • Set up, support, and manage the Jenkins pipelines and associated infrastructure to execute test automation workflows.
  • Design, build, support test automation solutions using the frameworks to meet the needs of project teams.
  • Consult with third party providers to fix/enhance/update test automation frameworks in a timely manner. An example - AWS may replace an existing feature in their Device Farms.
  • Update dependencies to ensure frameworks use the latest versions, reviewing them regularly for security compliance, and managing third-party libraries to meet organizational standards.
  • As new test automation requirements and industry trends (such as AI) arise that require new Opensource products or features, research and prepare solutions to uptake into the framework.
  • Ensure patching is kept up to date on all Framework infrastructure and software.
  • Implementing the product accelerators to improve the framework.

This service produces clearly identifiable results, notably the reduction in the cost of software development and maintenance by up to 30%, enhanced quality levels, improved time to market, and importantly mitigation of technical and business risks.

Let’s talk about your capability and experience:
Automation Expertise: Strong experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Rest Assured) using Java, Python, or JavaScript.

CI/CD Integration: Skilled in integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
API Testing: Hands-on experience with tools like Postman, Karate DSL,
Agile and DevOps Alignment: Proficient in Agile practices and collaborating with DevOps teams for seamless testing and deployment.
Test Management and Monitoring: Experience with JIRA, Zephyr, and monitoring tools like Splunk or Dynatrace for test execution and defect analysis.
Key Tools: Selenium, Appium, Rest Assured, Jenkins, GitLab, JIRA, Postman,
