YOUR ROLE
We are looking for a skilled Application Middleware Support Engineer to join our IT operations team. The Application Middleware Engineer will be responsible for administration of middleware platform such as Application and web servers, message-oriented middleware.
YOUR TASKS
- Administration of customer’s applications
- Performing changes and tasks according to standardized as well as non-standard operating procedures
- Handling incidents and major incidents according to agreed SLAs
- Planning & applying patches
- Working on production tools Infra component upgrades
- Support release updates
YOUR PROFILE
- Administration of application and web servers (e.g. WebSphere, WebLogic, Jboss, Apache, Tomcat. Nginx)
- Familiarity with message-oriented technologies (preferably IBM MQ, Kafka) in administration and defining flows.
- Good knowledge of operating systems (Linux and Windows) especially in area of monitoring, troubleshooting performance and application related issues.
- Hands-on experience with containerization
- Plan, prepare and apply maintenance fixes and upgrades to middleware products.
- Strong understanding of scripting languages is required (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl scripting tool)
- Experience in clustering technologies and knowledge of high availability strategies and monitoring tools.
- Overall knowledge of IT infrastructure both hosted on-premise and one of public clouds (practical experience on AWS, GCP or Azure) like: virtualization networking, storage, containerization, clustering load balancers.
Nice to have:
- Experience in MFT (Managed File Transfers) technologies like FTP servers, and secure transfer components (SSL, encryption) from vendors like Axway, IBM or other similar products (GoAnywhere, Control-m e-MFT, etc.)
- Experience in working with API (REST or/and SOAP) and related products.
- Familarity with GitLab pipelines for CI/CD processes.
