Job Description
- Solution Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain a Standard Operating Environment (SOE) management application using SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) and related technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define solution architecture, and develop custom features and functionalities.
- SOE Configuration Management: Configure and manage the SOE within SCCM, including operating system images, application packages, software updates, and configuration settings. Define and maintain standardized build configurations for desktops, laptops, and servers to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Application Packaging and Deployment: Package applications and software components for automated deployment using SCCM. Customize deployment scripts, command-line parameters, and installation options to support silent installation and user self-service options. Test application deployments for compatibility, reliability, and performance.
- Image Creation and Deployment: Create and maintain standardized operating system images (Golden Images) for different device types and user roles. Customize Windows operating system installations, drivers, settings, and applications to meet organizational requirements. Deploy images using SCCM task sequences and deployment methods.
- Patch Management and Compliance: Manage software updates and patches for the SOE, including Microsoft security updates, hotfixes, and service packs. Define patching schedules, maintenance windows, and deployment rules within SCCM. Monitor patch compliance, assess risk levels, and remediate vulnerabilities to maintain system security and stability.
- Reporting and Monitoring: Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and alerts within SCCM to monitor SOE performance, health, and compliance. Generate inventory reports, compliance reports, and software usage reports to track asset inventory, license compliance, and software utilization metrics.
- Automation and Scripting: Automate routine tasks, workflows, and processes using PowerShell scripting and SCCM automation features. Develop custom scripts, tools, and utilities to streamline SOE management tasks, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency.
Primary Skills
- Experience in IT infrastructure management, system administration, or application development, with a focus on SCCM and SOE management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for operating system deployment, software distribution, patch management, and configuration management.
- Experience in application packaging and deployment using SCCM, including MSI packaging, App-V virtualization, and deployment customization.
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and network protocols.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation, configuration management, and system administration tasks.
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices for IT service management, including change management, incident management, and problem management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
