An overview of the role:

In this role you will help Capgemini clients define and implement their digital engineering strategies. It will focus on helping our clients take a strategic view on how to take advantage of the latest digital engineering capabilities, to use these to transform their businesses and to generate business value.

The Digital Engineering team focuses on the innovation, design and industrialised readiness of evolutionary and revolutionary products and services. You’ll be a key member of the team that blends industry knowledge with practical consulting expertise; inventing what’s next for our clients.

You will work with fellow talented colleagues from all parts of Capgemini including Engineering, Hybrid Intelligence, Cambridge Consultants to develop compelling and comprehensive propositions to our clients. You’ll transform every aspect of a clients’ product development, manufacturing and product support operations to deliver sustained improvements across profitability, efficiency, quality, and behavioural change.

Why this role?

In this role you will work with industry leading clients assessing their product design, manufacturing and through life product support processes to help them identify opportunities to improve and transform their businesses and generate significant business value.

The role will be heavily client facing, you will be working with senior client stakeholders to understand the client’s existing operating position and help outline opportunities for improvement. Your industry experience and ability to create compelling points of view will be critical for this role.

Core responsibilities in this role will be developing comprehensive and compelling business cases together with the design of deployment roadmaps, tailored to the client context that can be executed by drawing on the wider resources of the Capgemini group. You will retain oversite and maintain a key role in the execution of the roadmaps.

Our projects are typically transformative for our clients and broad in their scope involving the deployment of new business systems and processes together with the transformation of client operating models. They will provide intellectual challenge and continuous opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills, in addition you will be able to draw on the wider resources of Capgemini when designing and implementing projects.

As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
  • Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

We’d love to meet someone with:

Due to market demand we are growing rapidly and looking for people with significant management consulting experience or who have held senior manager roles in Digital Engineering to join our team. You’ll bring engineering, manufacturing transformation, and/or product lifecycle management or equivalent experience. This experience could have been gained through operational, technical or leadership roles in industry, or through delivering major consulting assignments for blue-chip consulting organisations.

We’re looking for people with demonstrable experience and knowledge in a selection of the following areas - engineering, product development, manufacturing operations, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). You should have knowledge of the following areas:

  • Process and capability models for engineering, manufacturing and through life support and a clear understanding how these can be used to drive value
  • Innovation and product lifecycle management processes and value drivers
  • Agile and Lean based delivery methods
  • Working knowledge of relevant systems such as leading Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), ERP and MES tools

Personal attributes:

  • You have a passion and understanding of Intelligent Industry and how Digital Engineering transformation manifests in the ever-changing digital world, with a thirst for thinking ‘what is next’.
  • You’re able to articulate your views on the future of Intelligent Industry and Digital Engineering, and the future of specific industry sectors.
  • You bring a solid track record of successful and profitable project delivery, can work independently as well as in teams - in our collaborative but sometimes demanding project environment.
  • You have a passion for development, coaching others and improving performance.
  • You have experience of identifying business issues, developing possible solutions and taking those into client proposals; and have some experience in selling work to clients.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and efficiently across all levels of Capgemini, client, and 3rd party organisations.
  • You demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and resilience – being able to adjust positively to situations that involve changing tasks and/or location, shifting priorities or ambiguity.
