Job Title: Lead Software Development Engineer

Job location: San Francisco Bay Area, California (onsite)

Job description:

As a Lead Software Development Engineer at Capgemini, you will have the unique opportunity to lead the software development of legacy medical device products, ensuring timely and quality delivery based on a global delivery model. This ambitious Engineering role is located in the thriving San Francisco Bay Area, CA, USA.

Key responsibilities:

  • Gain a complete understanding of application software development
  • Lead the development of functional projects
  • Serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for the project team regarding software architecture and design matters
  • Take responsibility for and effectively communicate project goals and timelines
  • Collaborate with client Project Owners, including SW Business Analysts and the QA team.
  • Actively contribute to software development work, dedicating at least 50% of your time to hands-on technical tasks
  • Ensure client satisfaction

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in application software development
  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in computer engineering/science, software engineering, or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on expertise in C# technologies for application software product development
  • Extensive experience with SQL server
  • Working experience with medical device analyzers
  • Experience of working on software development related to interface/control with physical instruments
  • Work experience in legacy software product development with a complete understanding of reverse engineering is mandatory
  • Strong analytical capability – e.g. RCA, defect analysis, working on solution methods
  • Proven experience leading a software development team (6-10 engineer team) based on a global delivery model (offshore-on-site development)
  • Providing technical guidance to the offshore team and coordinating project execution with the offshore team
  • Understanding offshore culture and being the single point of contact for offshore in respective segments
  • Experience in project management is important
  • Strong communication skills with colleagues and clients

Nice to Have:

  • Experience of working in hematology and/or Diabetes management is an added advantage.
  • Experience in Delphi is an added advantage.

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $97,700 - $182,684. This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
