About the role

This is a key role in the Manufacturing Intelligence team, which is part of the broader Smart Factory team. In this dynamic role, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge machine learning technology that will support, and add value to, Smart Factory solutions. This role requires effective working with colleagues to ensure solutions are well scoped, deliverable, and robust. It also requires a keen interest in emerging and established technologies, and an understanding how these can be applied to deliver value in the Smart Factory context.

While we assume this role will be focussed on Defence Industry clients, there may be opportunities in other sectors.

The role can be remote, or based on any of our UK sites, with the expectation that there will be travel to client sites as required for project work.

Job Description - Grade Specific

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop machine learning solutions within a Smart Factory setting, with a particular focus on: GenAI, Computer Vision and anomaly detection (for quality and predictive maintenance) use cases; and, integration with OT, and IOT technologies
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Identify and build relationships with stakeholders in Capgemini and externally
  • Work with Smart Factory and wider Capgemini stakeholders to develop realistic, deliverable technical proposals in response to client business needs
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning and related technologies.
  • Document technical solutions and procedures clearly and concisely

Long Description

Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong experience in one of the following machine learning areas: GenAI; Computer Vision; Anomaly Detection; MLOps
  • Awareness of Industry 4.0 technologies such as as IoT, Historians, SCADA, Edge computing, cyber security, digital twins, digital control towers etc.
  • Experience of delivering machine learning projects from initial requirements capture through to project handover
  • Experience of project management methodology such as Agile, JIRA tools
  • Experience of working within a large-scale organisation, able to work as part of a team, excellent organisations and time keeping skills, strong written and verbal skills
  • Excellent client facing skills
