We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the Financial Accounting function and ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting across the Group. This is a key leadership position that combines technical accounting expertise, commercial partnership and people leadership.
Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee month-end and year-end close, statutory reporting, treasury, taxation compliance, audit management and financial controls, while identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen governance and drive finance transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Manage statutory reporting, consolidated financial statements and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Oversee external and internal audit activities and ensure audit findings are effectively addressed.
- Lead taxation compliance, including GST, BAS, FBT, payroll tax and income tax reporting.
- Manage treasury activities including cash flow forecasting, working capital and banking relationships.
- Maintain strong financial controls, governance frameworks and compliance practices across the Group.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to provide financial leadership, technical guidance and commercial insights.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process automation and AI-enabled finance solutions.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Financial Accounting team.
- Support strategic projects, finance transformation initiatives, system implementations and acquisitions.
You are a highly capable finance leader with a strong technical accounting background and the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
You will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification and a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- 10+ years' experience in financial accounting, compliance and statutory reporting.
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation requirements and corporate governance.
- Proven experience managing audits, financial controls and group reporting within a complex organisation.
- Experience leading and developing finance teams in a high-performance environment.
- Strong ERP systems experience (ideally Oracle NetSuite or SAP).
- Advanced Excel and Power BI capability.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for enhancing processes, systems and reporting.
- Own and shape the finance function across a complex ASX-listed group, leading financial control, statutory reporting, treasury, tax and governance.
- Drive transformation and innovation, leveraging automation, AI and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting capability.
- Partner with executive leaders and develop a high-performing team, influencing strategic decisions while building finance capability across the business.
